The Mountain Prince Lodge was established by the Chapai family in 1997.  The Chapai family line have resided in Sarangkot for hundreds of years.

The Mountain Prince Lodge is now owned and managed by husband and wife team Postaraj and Maya Chapai   They will do their best to help you enjoy your stay in the Himalayas. 

The Chapai family wanted to dedicate a business to tourism service so they chose a perfect site for a lodge; where guests would enjoy unrivalled, uninterrupted views of the environment and tranquillity would be offered to guests in a special way.  It was also realised that the site offered the chance to establish a kitchen garden, where organic vegetables are grown for guests’ meals.

 The Chapai family have always been active participants in local community works.

Bhim Chapai (Postaraj's father) worked for many years to establish large areas of communal village forests that now surround PHEWA LAKE, stop soil erosion and supply a good source of wood for villagers who rely on it to cook with.

Posteraz Chapai has worked for many years on the Village Water Supply committee in order to plan build and maintain the gravity fed water supply the village relies upon.

Postaraj and Maya were major fund-raisers for, and donors to, getting the Sarangkot School equipped with PCs and connected to the internet.
