Life was meant to be like this. Days were sunny and the views are brilliant. Other guests were friendly and we all had a great time chilling about the place. The lodge owner organised a two day trek for a few of us out to a place called Australia Camp. Funny name, but apparently it is where Ozzy trekkers used to camp. That was brilliant too. Good value guys.

Getting to the Mountain Prince Lodge

Strick air traffic limmits exist so book early.

Most visitors come to the Mountain Prince Lodge in Sarangkot village via Pokhara. Pokhara can be reached by air from almost all of Nepal's airports. On a clear day it is an excellent flight with fantastic mountain views. Pokhara is also accessible overland from Kathmandu by coach. Greenline coach is also highly recommended if you want a smooth ride and a nice lunch stop.

Once you are in Pokhara getting to Mountain Prince in Sarangkot village is easy and the views are well worth it.

The easiest way is to let us arrange to pick you up from Pokhara and bring you up to the Mountain Prince in Sarangkot. We can pick you up from anywhere you like. (Pokhara, airport, Bus Park or any Pokhara hotel) and we will meet you in person near the very top to manage your bags. This will almost always cost less than taking a public taxi.

For Independent Travellers

TAXI AND STAIRS FROM POKHARA AIRPORT / LAKESIDE / TOURIST BUS PARK: A 20-minute tax ride to the public staircase (NPR 600, $US 7) and then a 40-minute walk up the stone staircase. Tell the driver “VDC Office” then follow signs at stairway. Porters will carry your bag for a small fee.
LOCAL BUS : 45 minutes from the Pokhara (Baglung) "new bus park" on the edge of Pokhara city. Ask for the “Sarangkot Top” stop (NPR 20, US 25c). The bus is often crowded, people travel on the bus roof.
TREK TO MOUNTAIN PRINCE WITH/WITHOUT BEARERS: Take the 2-hour walking trail from Pokhara Lakeside to Mountain Prince. Bearers to carry your luggage and guide you are available (NPR 500, $US 7) from the Wayfarers agency (opposite the Royal Palace main gate - Pokhara.)
